Single-Parent Family
Single-parent families can use the family support service to restore family function and enhance emotional self-reliance.
Family support service
The state or local government provides the following family support services to single-parent families (Article 17 of the Single-Parent Family Support Act; Article 17-2 of the Enforcement Decree of the Single-Parent Family Support Act).
Childcare and educational support services.
Care services for the disabled, the elderly and patients with chronic diseases.
Home services such as cooking, cleaning or laundry.
Support for DNA testing costs for filing a birth confirmation request
Services for promoting family ties, such as familiy education and counseling services.
Counseling and psychotherapy services.
Whole-Family Support Program
The Whole-Family Support Program provides assistance to help single-parent families and grandparents-grandchildren families whose family functions have weakened to resolve their complex problems and meet their needs. The program aims to restore family functions and strengthen emotional and economic self-reliance through continuous case management (refer to the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family – Policy – Family – Whole-Family Support Program).
Family counseling and continuous case management for strengthening capabilities to help achieve emotional and economic independence
Providing information on available resources of the community and giving a link to use the available resources.
Providing programs for parent education, healthy family relationship, childcare, etc. and organizing self-help meetings.
Dispatching a private tutor ("Bawoomjidosa") for children's education and mental health.
Support for Youth Parents (Youth Parent Mentor, Legal Support, Professional Psychological Support)
Emergency crisis support (Support Leader dispatch, Kium Bodeumi [Family Support Specialist] dispatch)
Overall care/supporting services (dispatching "Kiwoombodumi," a social worker).
