Support, etc., for the rearing parent
- The State shall provide such support to enable parents to raise their minors in the optimum circumstances (Article 4(1) of the Act on Enforcing and Supporting Child Support Payment).
- The State or local governments shall establish and operate an organization exclusively for supporting the enforcement of payment of child support to the custodial parents and establishing policies for administrative and financial support necessary therefor (Article 4(2) of the Act on Enforcing and Supporting Child Support Payment).

The provision of child support payment enforcement services
- The Child Support Agency is an institution established under the Korean Institute for Healthy Family that was incorporated according to the Framework Act on Healthy Families to perform duties relating to claims for minor children’s child support and support for payment enforcement, etc. (Article 7(1) of the Act on Enforcing and Supporting Child Support Payment)

Duties of the Child Support Agency
- The Child Support Agency performs the following duties (Article 7(2) of the Act on Enforcing and Supporting Child Support Payment).
· Counseling for the noncustodial and custodial parent related to child support
· Support for the noncustodial parent’s visitation of the minor child to facilitate the payment of child support
· Legal support for child support claims and enforcement of payment, etc.
· Temporary emergency child support subsidy
· Support for the collection of child support payment rights finalized by agreement or court judgment and transfer of child support to the custodial parent
· Sanctions against the nonperforming child support debtor
· The study of systems, etc., for effectively enforcing child support payments
· Education and promotion relating to child support payments
· Other duties necessary for the enforcement of child support payment debt
