Anyone can use donated music works.
Donation of right of holder of author’s economic right- The holder of author’s economic right, etc. may donate their rights to the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Article 135(1) of the “Copyright Act”).
Institution entrusted with donation affairs of author’s economic right- The Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism entrusts the affairs regarding receiving donation of right of the holder of author’s economic right to the Korea Copyright Commission (Article 130, Article 135(1) of the “Copyright Act,” Article 68(3) of the "Enforcement Decree of the Copyright Act”).
Donation method- A person intending to donate author’s economic right has to attach a document verifying that he or she is the holder of author's economic right of the relevant work and the copies of the donated work to the pledge of donation and submit to the Korea Copyright Commission (Article 68(3), Article 75(1) of the “Enforcement Decree of the Copyright Act,” Article 28 and Form 59 of Annex of the “Enforcement Rule of the Copyright Act”).
Posting list of donated copyrights, etc.- The Korea Copyright Commission that has received donation has to record the title of the donated work, etc., and name of donator, etc. in the ledger and post them on the website of the Korea Copyright Commission (Article 68(3), Article 75(2) of the “Enforcement Decree of the Copyright Act,” Article 29 and Form 60 of Annex of the “Enforcement Rule of the Copyright Act”).
