Quarantine inspection time
Immediate quarantine inspection- The director of the quarantine station shall conduct the quarantine investigation immediately when the subject of the quarantine investigation (Article 6 of the Quarantine Act) arrives at a place for quarantine (main body of Article 11 (2) of the Quarantine Act).
Exceptions to immediate quarantine inspection- Provided, if the following unavoidable reasons for not being able to conduct a quarantine inspection immediately are encountered, the director of the quarantine station may permit passengers and crew members to get off and cargo unloaded on the condition that they wait or quarantine at a place for quarantine (proviso to Article 11 (2) of the Quarantine Act and Article 5-2 of the Enforcement Rules of the Quarantine Act).
· Where it is impossible to conduct a normal quarantine inspection because of bad weather or natural disasters
· Where the head of a means of transportation requests the postponement of a quarantine inspection because of safety reasons for the means of transportation and passengers
· Other cases where the director of the quarantine station deems it difficult to conduct an immediate quarantine inspection because of safety reasons, etc. for the quarantine officials
Quarantine time of means of transport departing from the Republic of Korea- The head of a means of transport departing from the Republic of Korea shall notify the director of the quarantine station of a scheduled departure time (Article 11 (3) of the Quarantine Act).
- The director of the quarantine station shall complete a quarantine inspection before the scheduled departure time notified (Article 11 (4) of the Quarantine Act).
