Calculating the electricity bill
Calculating and paying bills
- On the day of moving out, it is necessary to report the current electricity meter reading to the KEPCO Cyber Center (☎ 123 without area code) or the competent KEPCO branch office and then pay the rate as you prefer (by credit card or withdrawal from the account you have designated).
Applying for nominal transfer
- In cases where the user of electricity changes because of moving, both parties (the one who is moving in and the other who is moving out) shall report it to KEPCO within 14 days of the day of moving (Article 12 (1) of the Electricity Supply Provision).
- A person who is moving out (excepting persons of two or more households for one house and persons who live in an integrated contract apartment) can apply for a change of name through the KEPCO Cyber Center (☎ 123 without area code), etc.
- When a person who is moving in applies for a separate electricity bill because of a change of user as a result of moving, the electricity charges shall be calculated and billed for the previous and new users respectively on the basis of the date of user change (The main body of Article 12 (3) of the Electricity Supply Provision).
- However, in the case of applying, after the date of change, for separate billing for each user, the amount of electricity used for the month to which the change date belongs shall be determined in consultation with the previous and new user, and the charges shall be calculated and billed accordingly (Proviso to Article 12 (3) of the Electricity Supply Provision).
