Protection of Copyrights
The published creative work may be reproduced for personal use.
Reproduction for Personal Use
- Suppose the user intends to use the published creative work for non-commercial purposes, such as personal or domestic use, or other similar purposes. In this case, the user may reproduce the published creative work (main text of Article 30 of the Copyright Act).
- However, the following devices installed for public use shall not be used for reproduction (Conditions of Article 30 of the Copyright Act and Article 2-2 of the Enforcement Rules of the Copyright Act).
1. Printer
2. Scanner
3. Camera
4. Printers equipped with device functions that fall under stipulations from paragraphs 1 to 3.
Requirements for Reductions for Personal Use
- Required to use published creative works
- Reproductions shall not be used for commercial purposes
- Reproductions shall be used for personal, domestic, or other similar purposes only
Translation, Arrangement, or Adaptation of Creative Works for Personal Use
- Suppose the user intends to use the published creative work for non-commercial purposes, such as personal or domestic use, or other similar purposes. In this case, the user may translate, arrange, or remake the published creative work (Article 36, paragraph 1 of the Copyright Act).
