Scope of operations of beauty arts business (makeup)
Qualifications- Only a person who has obtained a beautician’s (makeup) license may open a makeup shop or engage in such a business (Article 8 (1) of the Public Health Control Act).
Place of business- Operation of a makeup business may not be conducted in a place other than a business establishment (The main body of Article 8 (2) of the Public Health Control Act).
- However, business may be conducted in a place other than a business establishment in the following circumstances (Proviso to Article 8 (2) of the Public Health Control Act and Article 13 of the Enforcement Regulations of the Public Health Control Act).
· In the event where the beauty arts service is provided for those who are unable to come to the business establishment due to illness, old age, disability, or other reasons
· In the event where the beauty arts service is provided for those who partake in a wedding or other ceremony immediately prior to the commencement of such ceremony
· In the event where the beauty arts service is used or provided as a volunteering activity in social welfare facilities under Subparagraph 4 of Article 2 of the Social Welfare Services Act
· In the event where the beauty arts service is provided for those who partake in a shoot, such as that for broadcasting, etc., immediately prior to the commencement of such shooting
· In the event where there are other special circumstances as acknowledged by the head of a Si/Gun/Gu
