Matters Regarding Wages and Labor Standards
- If a foreign worker experiences any of the following cases, the foreign worker may consult the Labor Supervision Division of the Regional Ministry of Employment and Labor having jurisdiction over his/her workplace to redress such grievances:
1. Wages or retirement allowances have not been paid;
2. Assault or any physical violence was inflicted by his/her employer or manager; or
3. Imposed prolonged hours of work or forced labor against the worker’s will.
Matters Regarding Industrial Safety
- If employers have not guaranteed health and safety within workplace, foreign workers working in such workplace may consult the Industrial Safety Division of the Regional Ministry of Employment and Labor having jurisdiction over his/her workplace.
Matters Regarding Employment
- If a foreign worker falls under any of the following cases, the foreign worker may consult the employment center having jurisdiction over his/her workplace to redress such grievances:
1. Where he/she needs to consult about changing workplace or finding employment;
2. Where he/she needs to receive the issuance of the relevant documents necessary during his/her stay in Korea including a certificate of employment; or
3. Where he/she needs consultation regarding any other matters arising during his/her employment period.
Matters Regarding Language Support
- In any of the following cases, a foreign worker may consult the customer service by calling 1350 or the Foreign Workforce Policy Division of the Ministry of Employment and Labor:
1. Where it is necessary to provide consultation and information in the native language of a foreign worker; or
2. Where it is necessary to provide guidance regarding consultation on various civil service procedures and the relevant institutions/divisions to redress his/her grievances
Matters Regarding Stayover
- In any of the following cases, a foreign worker may consult the Korea Immigration Service by calling 1345:
1. Where consultation on the matters concerning stay in Korea such as issuance of alien registration certificate, extension of period of stay, permission to change workplace, etc.; or
2. Where a foreign worker has been treated or is anticipated to be treated unfairly in the course of immigration procedures or stay in Korea;
Matters Regarding Industrial Accident Compensation
- If a foreign worker needs to file an application for compensation or medical treatment due to an industrial accident including ailment, on-the-job injury, disability, or death, such foreign worker may consult the Korea Workers’ Compensation and Welfare Service.
Matters Regarding Crime
- If a foreign worker suffers from criminal activities or unfair treatment during his/her employment period, such foreign worker may contact the police by calling 112.
