Single-parent families are entitled totemporary housing or living support via Single-parent Family WelfareFacilities.
Single-parent family welfare facility
Single-parent families can be accommodated at Single-parent family welfare facilities that support housing and living for a certain period and are available at the relevant choice of a Single Mother and Children Welfare facility, Single Father and Children Welfare Facility, Unmarried Mother-and-child Family Welfare Facility, or Temporary Supporting Welfare Facility. (Article 19(1) of the Single-Parent Family Support Act; Article 9-7 and Attached Table 1 of the Enforcement Rules of the Single-Parent Family Support Act; 2023 Guidelines for Single-Parent Family Support Project of the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, p. 235)

Admittance procedures
Applicants tobe admitted to the Single-parent family welfare facility receive counsel fromthe person in charge of the Single-parent family at the local government thathas jurisdiction over the facility (city, Gun, or Gu) before submitting admittance application to city,Gun, or Gu. (Article 9-6-1 of the EnforcementRegulations of the Single-parent Family Support Act)
There is no limitation to admittance according to address. (2022 Guidelines for Single-Parent Family Support Project, p. 238)
The admittancewill be determined within 14 days after admittance is requested upon counselwith the city, Gun, or Guofficial in charge of the Single-parent family. The applicant will be notified,and the facility will be asked to arrange the admittance. (Article 9-6-3 of theEnforcement Regulations of the Single-parent Family Support Act)
During the admittance period, children above age 18 (22 if the child is an enrolled student; in case of a student enrolled after military service, the military service period shall be added in the calculation of age) according to the Single-Parent Family Support Act will be disqualified from admittance; however, other family members are qualified for single-parent family support, and thus their admittance period is guaranteed. [Even though children above age limits are excluded from single-parent family support (suspension of support), their admittance period in the facility is guaranteed.] (2022 Guidelines for Single-Parent Family Support Project, p. 227)

Support of supplementary living expense
Single-parent family admitted to single-parent family welfare facility receives the same low-income single-parent family welfare benefits and additionally receives supplementary living expense support of 50,000 won per month. (Article 12(1) of the Single-Parent Family Support Act; 2022 Guidelines for Single-Parent Family Support Project, p. 167)
