Single-parent families are entitled tospecial supply of rental housing.

Special supply of rental housing
The Korea Land and Housing Corporation or local public corporations, when supplying national housing (public rental housing), assist in ensuring housing stability for single-parent families by arranging special housing supply for low-income single-parent families who are members of non-homeowning households (Subparagraph 27 of Article 35(1) of 「Regulations of Housing Supply」 and page 464 of 「2025 Guidelines for Single-Parent Family Support Project」).

Subject of the special supply
Single-parent families are eligible for the special supply of rental housing under 「Single-Parent Family Support Act」 as long as they are non-homeowners (a homeowner or a member of lineal ascendant or descendant listed in homeowner's certified copy of the resident registration card) from the date the tenant recruitment notice was released (p.465 of 「2025 Guidelines for Single-Parent Family Support Project」).
The sale in-lots of the special supply include rental housing of Korea Land and Housing Corporation and private landlords (p.465 of 「2025 Guidelines for Single-Parent Family Support Project」).

Application and registration
Once the head of Eup/Myeon/Dong notifies about the plans for supplying rental housing, Single-parent families can apply for the special supply sales in-lots by submitting the application form for the special supply with the letter of consent for disclosing personal information, certificate of Single-parent family, and certificate of disability (if applicable) (p.466 of 「2025 Guidelines for Single-Parent Family Support Project」).

Financial support for long-term public rentalhousing
Where a projectowner charges tenants for rent at differential rates, depending upon theirincome level, the State may grant the project owner, as a subsidy withinbudgetary limits, a difference between the total amount of rent calculated byapplying standard terms and conditions of rental and the total amount of rentcharged to tenants at differential rates. (Article 5 of the Act on the Supportfor Improving the Quality of Lives of Tenants in Long-term Public RentalHousing)

The margin ofthe total sum of the rental provided to the qualified recipients of livelihoodbenefits and medical benefits prescribed in the Articles 7-(1)-1 and 7-(1)-3 ofthe National Basic Living Security Act
The margin ofthe total sum of the rental provided to the qualified recipients of the housingbenefits and education benefits prescribed in the Articles 7-(1)-2 and 7-(1)-4of the National Basic Living Security Act and those who are under the nextlowest income bracket prescribed in the Articles 2-10 of the National BasicLiving Security Act.
