Single-Parent Family
Single-parent Family support is available when a grandfather or grandmother takes care of a parent bereaved grandchild younger than 18 years old (If an enrolled student, younger than age 22).
Grandparents-grandchildren Family
Besides the Single Mother or Father Family, subsidy is available when a grandfather or grandmother of either maternal or paternal side raises a parent bereaved grandchild younger than 18 years old (22 if the child is an enrolled student). One of the following cases must also apply, and the family income must meet the income standard annually announced by Minister of Gender Equality and Family. A child whose parents are dead or missing
A child who cannot be supported by his/her parents because they cannot work for a long time due to a mental or physical handicap
A child who cannot get any support from parents because of 6-month or longer imprisonment, etc.
A child who cannot get any support from parents due to divorce or abandonment
A child who cannot get any support due to family discord or because he or she ran away from home
A child who cannot get any support from parents due to long term economic incapability caused by unemployment or other reasons

The scope of eligibility for child support subsidy
The term "child" for the child support subsidy means a person under 18 years of age (referring to a person under the age of 22 where he/she attends school and a person under the age to which the period of his/her military service is added where he/she attends school after performing his/her military services under the Military Service Act)(Subparagraph 5 of Article 4 of the Single-Parent Family Support Act).
