Medical Support through a Specialized Medical Institution
Specialized Medical Institution
- The Minister of Gender Equality and Family, or the Special Autonomic City Mayor, Special Self-Governing Governor, or head of Si/Gun/Gu may designate a medical institution specializing in the treatment of victims or workers of sex trafficking (Article 24, paragraph 1 of the Act on the Prevention of Commercial Sex Acts and Protection, Etc. of Victims).
Medical Treatment Support
- The designated medical institution shall provide medical support when requested by the head of a support facility or counseling center for victims of sex trafficking (Article 24, paragraph 2 of the Act on the Prevention of Commercial Sex Acts and Protection, Etc. of Victims, and Article 9 of the Enforcement Decree of the Act on the Prevention of Commercial Sex Acts and Protection, Etc. of Victims).
Support for Medical Costs
- If the support facility head requested the medical institution for treatment, the nation or local government may support some or all medical expenses for treatment benefits not supported under the Medical Care Assistance Act (Article 23, paragraph 2 of the Act on the Prevention of Commercial Sex Acts and Protection, Etc. of Victims, and Article 19 of the Enforcement Rules of the Act on the Prevention of Commercial Sex Acts and Protection, Etc. of Victims).
