Provision of Residence
Residence for the Whole Family
To support the victim’s independence and social adaptation, the victim of sexualviolence and the victim’s family will be provided with a residence to livetogether (subparagraph 4 of Article 3(1) of the Sexual Violence Prevention andVictims Protection Act, 「Ministry of Gender Equalityand Family, 2022 Guidelines to Operate Projects that Raise Benefits ofWomen and Children」).

2 years (2-year extension available for one time only)

Residence qualifications

-Residence is provided for “women who are victims of domestic or sexual violence” and willing to raise independence and self-support

-Victims Falling under any of the Following Cases

° A person recommended by the protection institution head, domestic violence counseling center director, or the 1366 center head, who is not allowed to enter the protection institution, being accompanied by a boy ten years old or older

° A minor who has been sexually violated by a relative and did not enter the protection institution

° A person deemed necessary to have priority to enter a protection institution upon deliberation by a council comprising local government officials, residence support operation head, and experts

How to Move in

More than 2 households allowed to move into each rental house

Rental guarantee and management costs

° Rental guarantee money exempted (Occupant of each provided residence shall pay up to KRW 700,000, which will be returned when moving out)

° However, management costs and various utility bills shall be borne by the tenant.

Party Prioritized for National Public Housing
- Regardless of the tenant selection priority, the victim of sexual violence or the family of the victim of sexual violence may be preferred provision of national public housing within 20% of constructed houses (Article 3, paragraph 1, subparagraph 4 of the Sexual Violence Prevention and Victims Protection Act, Article 48, paragraph 2 of the Special Act on Public Housing, and Article 15, paragraph 1, and Attached Table 4 of the Enforcement Rules of the Special Act on Public Housing).
