Housing Lease
Lessee´s Obligation to Pay Rent

Co-lessee´s Joint Obligation
Lessee's Obligation to Pay Rent
The lessee must pay the lessor rent in return for using and profiting from the leased house (Article 618 of the Civil Act).
Rent Due Date
Unless otherwise agreed between the lessee and the lessor, rent is due on the last day of each month (Article 633 of the Civil Act).
Non-Payment of Rent and Lease Cancellation
If the lessee fails to pay rent for two consecutive periods, the lessor may rescind the lease contract (Article 640 of the Civil Act).
Co-lessee's Joint Obligation
When several lessees share the same leased house and profit therefrom, they need to pay rent separately (Articles 616 and 654 of the Civil Act).
Lessee's Obligation to Pay Rent
The lessee must pay the lessor rent in return for using and profiting from the leased house (Article 618 of the Civil Act).
