Part-time child care service
Support for part-time child care service- “Part-time childcare” refers to part-time childcare services provided by childcare centers or Support Centers for Childcare designated by the Si/Gun/Gu. Hourly fees are charged by the centers above for the corresponding services (Ministry of Health and Welfare, 2023 Second Half Guidelines for Child Care Project, July, p. 300).
- Infants from 6 months to under 36 months who do not attend childcare centers or kindergartens and are supported with parent benefits (in cash) or child benefits may receive part-time childcare services if necessary (Article 26-2(1) of the Child Care Act, Article 28-2(2) of the Enforcement Rules of the Child Care Act, and 2023 Second Half Guidelines for Child Care Project, p. 300).
Types of part-time child care services- Part-time child care services are facilities that can provide child care support centers, child care centers, and other part-time child care services designated by the Mayor of the Special Self-Governing City, the Governor of the Special Self-Governing Province, and the head of a Si/Gun/Gu, and child care facilities established and operated by nonprofit corporations or organizations may receive the following support (Article 26-2 (2) of the Child Care Act and Article 28-2 (1) and (6) of the Enforcement Rules of the Child Care Act).
1. General part-time child care service: Part-time child care service that can be used regularly by the hour, but the date of use is less than 6 days a week and the daily hours of use are less than 12 hours.
2. Emergency part-time child care services: Part-time child care services that can be used irregularly in the event of urgent child care services
Application for part-time child care service- Guardians of infants and young children who intend to use part-time child care services must apply to the Mayor of the Special Self-Governing City, the Governor of the Special Self-Governing Province, and the head of the Si/Gun/Gu (Article 28-2 (3) of the Enforcement Rules of the Child Care Act).
